I was a bit nervous about having strangers holidaying in my house, even though I would be staying in theirs. But after reading though your recommendations, I put together a list of questions and the owners of the first house I wanted to swap with fitted the bill. We ended up having a couple of chats on the phone and by the time the house swap happened I was pretty comfortable with the idea. We had a great weekend in Taupo staying in their awesome lakeside home, and they apparently loved hanging out by the beach for a bit. My neighbour handled the key arrangements and ended up having a coffee with our house swap buddies. It all felt very comfortable and easy. I’m on the scout for our next swap already. – Claire
